FAVORITE FOOD?
"ooh, that's a hard one. being a sous chef, i'm kinda of experimental when it comes to my food, mainly because of the job that i have. creating new dishes is my passion so i'd have to say that i don't necessarily have a favorite food. i like all kinds."
ARE YOU A VIRGIN?
"uh, i don't really think it's the kind of question you should ask people... but i am."
FAVORITE COLOR?
"blue."
HAVE YOU EVER EMBARRASSED YOURSELF?
"ah ha, which time are you talking about? there have been a few because i will tell you right now, i'm a little... safety challenged and have my... awkward moments. i've never been a public speaker so anytime i had to do that in school, i would stutter like i had problems and i've always fumbled around, getting hurt in one way or another. it's always been an accident but the time that i embarrassed myself the most was me trying to go roller skating with a couple of friends. i completely bit it and it felt like i nearly broke my tailbone. everyone was watching and they had some guy come out and see if i was okay, which didn't make it any better, although he was really nice."
FAVORITE DRINK?
"i'm addicted to coffee. i know caffeine can be really bad for you but i guzzle that stuff like i won't ever be able to again. other than that, i like water. i try to be healthy in what i eat and drink but coffee's my one weakness."
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?
"oh. oh gosh. umm. i really don't know. maybe being a manager of the restaurant i work in? i'd like to have someone in my life that is more than just a friend but so far, it's been a lot of hits and misses with the whole dating thing so i'll say that i want it but i'm not really counting on it happening. i think me winning a million dollars will happen before i actually get married.
FAVORITE HOLIDAY?
"the romantic part of me wants to say valentine's day. i had a boyfriend one time that treated me to the best v's day celebration i've ever had... well, excluding the fact that it was the only one i've ever had. but it was perfection and i won't ever forget it, even though we're not seeing each other anymore."
WHAT'S ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
"i struggle a lot with depression. i've had it since i was eighteen years old and i don't tell a lot of people about it, mainly because i don't want to be judged for it. it affects the things that i do on a daily basis, like when i sleep too much or how exhausted i feel at the end of a simple work day. sometimes i do wish that i could confide in someone about it and i have with some good friends before moving to miami but i don't know people here and it's just an awkward thing to talk about."
DO YOU PREFER THE NIGHT OR THE DAY?
"night. it's perfect for the times that i just want to be by myself and have a relaxing evening. usually my days are really busy, with work and things like that and while i do enjoy it, it's nice to have a chance to have some alone time to think things over."
NAME A FANTASY?
"you know the whole scenario of walking on the beach with your lover or having some moonlit dinner on the beach? i'm pretty sure i would die and go to heaven if that actually happened in real life. movies play up so much of it but it's just a fantasy that i've always had and wanted to be apart of."
Trust was one of the most important things involved in a relationship, no matter what kind it was. If you were a mother and son, a father and daughter, two lovers or a husband and a wife, those kind of close relationships all had to have some level of trust, some foundation that it could be built upon. You couldn't trust someone if you thought that they were going to do you wrong and if you thought that, then you obviously weren't going to be handing it out to just anyone. Minnie was the kind of person where it took a while for you to build up trust with her, make her believe that you were the person you said you were but normally, it had never really mattered. The people that she met nowadays were ones that she was with for maybe a couple of weeks and in that expanse of time, she rarely developed any kind of close bond with anyone. That bond had been saved and spent on Chris, everyone else just a memory if they even made that much of an impression on her. Traveling around had allowed many opportunities, including the chance to get to know her boyfriend better. They had spent so much time together, fighting, getting along and everything in between and it was pretty easy to see that she cared about him, liked when he gave her the one on one attention. What she didn't like was him running off with other women, lying to her about things and most of all, keeping secrets from her. Not that she wanted to know his deep dark secrets, particularly the one that she had learned. The trust between the two of them, though, had been slowly wavering and finally, to put it very simply, that trust that she once had in him was now completely gone.
It wasn't even just because of the fact that she found that he was some sort of killer, the scene that she had wandered on being the most shocking and disturbing thing she had seen in her entire life. It played a very large part in it but so did the hitting and the way that he spoke to her, the way that he completely put her down. A murderer and a bad boyfriend all wrapped into one and she was finally starting to see it. It had only taken a room with a dead girl and a punch in the face to realize it. The events had caused her to be less than enthusiastic about being around him and while she tried to continue on like everything was normal, so that she wouldn't manage to piss him off like she had a knack for doing, it was easy to see that it wasn't working out quite like she had hoped. Minnie was nervous around him and it showed in the work that they did on stage. She couldn't quite get relaxed around him and comfortable but she put on a pretty little smile and did her best despite all of this. She still had a job to do and money to make and it was part of trying to pretend like everything was alright with the two of them. He had been nicer to her after he had punched her and while she didn't quite believe the promises her made to her, she knew that there wasn't anything else that she could do about it. It was like a feeling of being trapped, knowing that she couldn't get out of this. She just had to play nice, act sweet and most of all, lie like her life depended on it. And really, that saying wasn't stretching things out of the norm. Her life did depend on this, on keeping her mouth shut and believing what he said, his threat from that day ringing in her mind whenever she tried to change the line of thinking.
Today, though, she was going to try harder than ever to make sure that things went smoothly. It didn't really feel like it was up to her to do so with all of the past blunders that he had made but she wanted one day of not feeling afraid or worried or seeing that girl in the back of her mind. She wanted to spend their anniversary together in the nicest way possible, and she wanted no fights at all to erupt. It was tough when you considered the two people involved in this relationship but she was going to try for both of their sakes. Of course, the way that the show was going right now was probably not helping matters. They had scored a time slot at the local carnival that had come to Quantico and she had spent a fair amount of time wandering around the place with Mason, while trying to get hold of her boyfriend. She didn't know where he had been but by the time that she even got a chance to ask, she was having to quickly change into her costume and get out onto the stage with Chris. During the show, she had already made a couple of small mistakes, one that she hoped only she noticed and not Chris or the rest of the crowd that had gathered around to see the promises that they had given out in the advertisements to their shows. Unfortunately, her next mistake was her biggest and it was not one that she could hide from everyone. She plastered a smile on her face instead of panicking, something an amateur probably would have done and continued on with the rest of the trick with her partner, trying to make up for it. There was some polite applause at the end of the show but nowhere near what they used to have when they first started working with each other and then up until a little while ago. The lack of trust carried over into every part of their relationship now, including their work relationship and Minnie found that she could do nothing to stop it from happening.
Walking offstage was nothing short of a relief for Ming and she went straight for the little area that she and Chris had set up for changing their clothes. Someone from the next act was already there, setting up their stuff and the woman let out a brief huff, grabbing her extra set of clothes and other possessions from where they were sitting. "Guess we'll have to find someplace else to change," she said in a slightly annoyed tone, looking back up at Chris but not quite meeting his eyes. She didn't want to bring up anything from how the show had gone, because she knew that it had not been one of their best, just like the past few ones that they had put on. Even with all the practicing that they had done, she couldn't quite get over that hurdle, that mental image and the remembered pain and horror that she had found that night. No one in their right minds would trust someone like him and she hated that she thought that, that he had changed so much from what she was used to. Clutching her stuff to her chest, Minnie stepped out of tent and out onto the dirt path that lead back to the main spots that the carnival was set up on. There was hardly anyone back here, since it was meant for people performing and the next performers were being announced, as she could hear. Taking in a breath, she walked a little bit, looking over her shoulder to softly ask, "So .. what are we doing for our anniversary?"
