FAVORITE FOOD?
“Hm, I'd have to go with seafood. I mean come on, I come from The Sunshine State and my father owned a seafood restaurant for the better part of his life.”
ARE YOU A VIRGIN?
“Sadly, no. I'm the type of person that views this kind of intimacy as something you should keep until the moment is right, but unfortunately one night of drunkenness spoiled things for me. I only made love to someone once. The next time will be the right time.”
FAVORITE COLOR?
“This is a hard one. Honestly? It changes every once in a while. I guess I'm a fan of blue, probably a grayish blue.”
HAVE YOU EVER EMBARRASSED YOURSELF?
“Oh definitely, but if you must know, I'm generally a goofy kind of guy. I embarassed myself a thousand times but I usually laugh along with the crowd.”
FAVORITE DRINK?
“A good beer or two at the end of a shift is always good.”
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?
“Honestly, I'm more of a go-with-the-flow kind of guy. Besides, you never know what life can throw your way. I'm sure I'll probably still be an officer, quite possibly still in Miami.”
FAVORITE HOLIDAY?
“I'd have to say Christmas. It's always great to see all of the happy smiles and the decorations. I'm a bit of a kid at heart too, so I guess presents are always a plus.”
WHAT'S ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
“Well, a lot of people don't usually assume that I'm a singer, nor do they know that I write songs and novels. Well, I do those when I have spare time, which isn't often nowadays.”
DO YOU PREFER THE NIGHT OR THE DAY?
“The night. I've always been a night owl, getting up as late as possible and going to bed in the early hours of the morning.”
NAME A FANTASY?
“What, like winning the lottery or something?”
To be honest, Halloween had never been much fun for Jason, even while growing up. Living in the heart of New York City, opportunities to run around in the streets with a costume were pretty far between. His parents had always insisted that he'd stay inside, telling him that New York was no place for trick-or-treating. Now that he was older he understood that there were some pretty bad people out there that took advantage of the holiday to hurt kids. Not only in the hustling and bustling city of New York, but anywhere really. Even here in the small town of Victor; he was sure there would be some trouble where a paramedic was required. His boss seemed to think the same, because Jase found himself on Halloween evening driving around in his ambulance, watching, waiting to be called to some house, or at a bar where people were partying too hard. He wondered how interesting Victor citizens made their Halloween.
He wasn't talking however. Actually, Jase's usual partner had taken a day off to spend the Holiday with his family and friends, which meant Jason was driving with someone new: a woman in her early twenties who really did not like him. And he in turn, did not like her, so really, it didn't bother him much that she completely ignored him. He did know that she was fresh out of college and it had only been a few weeks since she'd started working. He really did hope she wouldn't mess things up tonight, he took his job very seriously...And although he wasn't usually the type to judge, she seemed way to quirky and absent-minded to know a Red Triage Tag from a Green one. Glancing sideways at her, he couldn't help but sigh. This really was the worse Halloween thus far, and he'd lived through some pretty bad ones.
For half an hour they rode around, seeing kids from all ages dressed in batman and superman costumes running around, fallowed by parents, young and old. There were princesses and Tinkerbells, dogs, cats and even a mouse. One kid was even dressed as a lollipop; the things people came up with these days. Eventually they were dispatched to a party taking place in the woods. To be honest, Jason had never been too fond of parties, but this one seemed to be quite the big deal in Victor. His current work partner seemed eager herself, which really annoyed Jason - and slightly pissed him off too. He didn't want to be responsible for her getting drunk on the job.
A weekend of Halloween bonfires, people did take the festivities seriously here. he thought twenty minutes later as he leaned against his rig, waiting for something to happen. His partner had long since deserted him, probably half-way through her second alcoholic drink at this point. Mentally, the twenty-seven year-old bet on just how long she'd last as an employee of Victor Area Medical Center. A month, a week? ”This is going to be a long night.” he muttered to himself, his fingers trailing along the ambulance as he looked around, noticing nobody he knew... Not that it was very surprising, he knew practically no one in this place. He didn't exactly want to either though, he enjoyed his solitude.
