matt had a thing for dogs. he loved them and their eager when they were being petted. matthew had a dog himself. a golden retriever. he had bought it right after he arrived home from greece. to mend his broken heart and the dog, belle had been his best friend, these two years. right away matt figured that victoire's and his dog would be great friends. that was just how he was. he was certain that if they had puppies, they wouldn't be very pretty. a bulldog and a golden retriever. what a mix. a small laugh came across his lips as he thought about it.
as matt heard her voice again, it was like angles were singing. matt knew she was part veela, but that wasn't why he had fallen head over heels in love with her. she had a good heart and always wanted the best for everyone. victoire was kind and she respected every decision he took. he had learned to do the same thing with her. in the beginning he wasn't good at it, but he learned it slowly. she had taught him a lot of things. matt also knew she had a french mother, she had told him that, to explain why she had a french accent. matt felt that he still loved her french accent. but truth be told, she was the reason why he felt as he did right now. he was lonely, of course he had some few friends from his job, but he weren't really close with them. and he worked in bulgaria, so he didn't saw his family everyday.
he was stunned to see her. he wouldn't have imagined her to live in muggle london. matt had always found her too magical for such a "common" place like muggle london. matt on the hand, liked it very much. it would be perfect for him, but sadly he couldn't bring his dragons here. people would start asking questions, and he couldn't leave his dragons. they meant to much for him. he could feel a certain thing in his heart, when he was away from them, only for a weekend. if he ever found a girlfriend, she had to move to bulgaria to live with him. or... if it was victoire he could adjust, he was sure. but that was way too early to think about it, right?
how had he been? well. tough question. some days were better than others. mainly he had been sad. and he had needed some answers. some days he had been crying, not very manly, but he was heartbroken. matt had opened up for the first time in his life, and then the girl left without a word. it had been pretty hard actually. but there had been a few positive things about this. he had found out what he wanted to do for a living. and he had moved to bulgaria. he hoped to move from there sometime. he could be the gatekeeper in hogwarts maybe. like hagrid?
"well truth be told... i have been better. but i found a great job to keep me distracted. i work with dragons."
he said with a small smile upon his lips. the dragons made him smile. not her. if these two might have a future, she had some things to prove to him. about trust. but honestly, he didn't thought they had anything. they would probably always just be "ex-fianceés and that was that. he wanted to ask her she had been. but she was probably already married. maybe to teddy, her hogwarts boyfriend? but matt didn't saw a ring on her finger. he had no idea what to believe.
"what about you? how have you been?"
there. he said it. why not just get it over with? he was a mess at this point, but no one never really noticed. as he looked at her, now standing up, he remembered a picture some random tourist had taken of them. he actually had it in the pocket of this jacket he was wearing. yes, he was a sissy when it came to victoire, but she had meant a great deal to him.
