It is 2461 and the Universe isn't as it should be. Fluxes and disturbances in space-time have been discovered and observed, sometimes with catastrophic impacts. The United Government of Allied Planets (UGAP) cannot stand for this to go on with possible casualties ranging from hundreds to the entire human race.
Therefore, they set up a team of their best and brightest to investigate the possible causes and explore the effects of such disturbances, in order to come up with a solution, in the hope that they may save billions upon billions of lives. The crew can travel all over the Universe in their ship, Venia, investigating disturbances and helping to deal with the aftermath, with a view to hopefully preventing them in future.
They don't know it yet, but energy is being sucked out of their Universe in order to create bridges between the other Universes. If they don't find something to stop it, then soon the Universes may collapse in on each other, creating a giant rift in time and space, or maybe even destroying the entire Multi-verse.
