what was one thing that tyler cole hated more then anything? waiting for girls to be ready to go out for the night. he was a very impatient person, so waiting for over forty five minutes basically did it for him. he had planned a romantic evening out with his girlfriend, keira, and had been ready withing at least fifteen minutes. tyler had quickly rushed home, hoping that he wouldn't be late for the evening. but, when he got home, he found out that keira wasn't even ready to go, which made him somewhat happy. tyler was able to take his time, and he was now realizing that he could of taken longer. he had a quick shower after a long day of basketball practice, got dressed in a plaid shirt and a pair of his faded blue jeans, then shook his hair a few times and he was good to go for the night. of course, keira still wasn't ready. tyler let out a small groan as he paced around downstairs, gazing at the clock every few minutes to check the time. "keira, baby. are you ready yet?" he yelled up to her, knowing that she probably wasn't. "we have reservations for seven thirty. that leaves us twenty minutes to get their with the traffic. you probably look fine anyways, so i don't even know what you're still doing up there -" by this time, tyler was basically talking to himself, knowing that keira had probably blocked it out by now. tyler turned around to see keira standing behind him. he nodded, pulling a small smile onto his face. "see, you look gorgeous, babe. so, i don't understand why it takes you so long." he shook his head slowly, grabbing his wallet and car keys off of the kitchen counter. "are we good to go now?" without even waiting for an answer, tyler headed to the front door. he knew that if he stood there, waiting for an answer, then she would of probably found something else to change.
tyler got into his car and started the engine, waiting for keira. once she got in, he quickly pulled out of the driveway and headed towards the resturant he had booked reservations for, rosa mexicano. it had been one of his favorite resturants while growing up here, so he thought that it'd be nice to bring keira to it. it was there little date night tonight, and the time to show her around miami. he had been busy lately with basketball practice and meetings, so he didn't have a lot of time to spend with her. he only saw her a few hours out of the day, since he spent most of his time preparing for the basketball season that was heading his way. he felt like a pretty lousy boyfriend because of it. back in las vegas, he spent most of his day with keira, so it was quite the change for him, and he was assuming that it was for her too. although, she had her own thing going on with the spa, so they both had fair excuses.
thanks to tyler's speeding on the freeway, the couple made it to the resturant within ten minutes. driving fast was a bad habit of tyler's, and although keira got mad at him a few times for it, he just couldn't help it. he stopped at the front of the restaurant, getting out of his car as the valet quickly rushed over to the passenger door, opening it, to help keira out of the car before tyler did. he quickly rolled his blue eyes at the guy as he walked over to keira, lacing his hand into hers, kissing her on top of the head. the parking attendant got into tyler's car and drove it to their parking area as tyler led keira into the restaurant, a smile on his face. he gazed down at keira. "you're going to love it here. it was one of my favorite places to eat when i lived here before." tyler quickly opened the door for keira, walking in after her, before walking up to the hostess. she showed them their table and tyler followed behind her, his hand still laced with keira's. he quickly pulled out a seat for keira, before sitting down across from her as the hostess handed the menu's to them. tyler nodded as a thank you, before flipping his menu open.

keira had a clear advanced warning about the dinner with tyler tonight. he had reminded her the night before so she would have enough time to get ready before he got home. she was well aware of tylers impatiences. most of the time she would skip a step in getting ready just to please him but tonight was different in keiras mind. tonight was rare and special. at least that was how she perceived the night to be. ever since they had moved to miami, she had anticipated a wedding proposal from tyler. they had been together long enough. she couldnt understand why they werent already engaged and planning a wedding but keira promised herself that she would be patient. three years seemed like patience in her eyes but she knew that tyler saw things differently. thought with the sudden move back to his hometown and a nicely planned evening, keira was more than certain that all the waiting she had been doing would be put to an end tonight. and that was the reason she took time to doll herself up. if she was going to be proposed to tonight she had to look the part.
keira had started getting ready long before tyler had even arrived home but even has he rushed to get ready, she took her precious time in front of the mirror. there were some things men just didnt understand. women choose to spend hours getting ready for them. just as she stepped before her closet to pick out an outfit for the evening she could hear tyler calling from down stairs. she choose to ignore his questions. not because she was mad or annoyed with him but because she wanted to look perfect for a perfect night. eventually keira pulled out a beige dress that was embroider just below her just. she made sure that her jewelry matched then finally walked down stairs to find her boy friend waiting impatiently. "thank you." was all keira could really get out before tyler started heading towards the door. she sighed softly to herself, convincing herself that she would not let his cranky mood spoil her night. if anything she needed to make him happy so he didnt punk out on getting down on one knee.
without saying much else, keira followed him to the care and anxiously survived the car ride to the restaurant. she hated the way tyler drove. it was too fast for her liking but a passenger seat driver wasnt something she wanted to be at the moment. the last thing she needed was to start an argument. besides, his driving got them to the restaurant in a short amount of time. maybe he was just as anxious for tonight as much as she was. keira smile softly to the valet boy helped her out of the car. he was definitely no interest of hers. she was more than focused on tyler as they laced fingers and strolled into the restaurant together. "well if you like it, then it must be good." a difference between them was their personalities. keira was more straight-forward and aggressive, while tyler was very passive but they turned out to have common interests. food being one of them. she followed her boy friend to the table, thinking that tonight must be extra special if he was taking her to one of his favorite dine-in places. she gazed over the menu quickly before placing it back down again. it was not hard for her to choose. no matter which mexican restaurant she was at, keira had to choose chicken enchiladas. she had to compare. "so how was practice today?" she asked curiously, her golden eyes gazing at tyler from across the table.

walking back into the fancy restaurant brought back several memories for tyler. while growing up, his family would always come to the rosa mexicano every chance they got. it was basically like a ritual for the family. it came to an end though after tyler got involved with drugs. they would schedule days to come to the restaurant, but tyler was just too high to even care, and he regretted it. the last time he actually sat down with his whole family, in the right state of mind, was back in high school, before he got involved with the drugs. he always cherished the memories though, and you could tell that he was finally happy to be back in a place that he loved. the huge grin on his face as he walked into the restaurant gave it away. being in the restaurant just felt like he was back to him old self - he felt like he had finally found a part of himself that he had missing all this time, and he had. las vegas had changed him. no, the drugs had changed him. and, here he was - finally happy with his life, back to the way it had been several years ago.
well, he wasn't fully back to his old self. the old tyler would of headed home as soon as he could to get his mother's famous chicken dinner. but, there was no racing over to his parents house. there wasn't even a phone call. instead, he was chickening out. he didn't exactly leave on the best of terms with them, and he wasn't quite sure if they would be happy to see him or not. he was sure that his little sister, jordyn, had already told his parents that he was back in town, and waiting this long to call them would obviously make them pretty upset. but, keira was in the picture now too, and the was one of the reasons why she was with him now, in miami. she was here to meet his parents. but, several weeks in miami and he didn't even give them a phone call. keira had started to get impatient, but tyler knew for a fact that his parents would adore her, so what was the big problem? well, the only girlfriend tyler had ever brought home was gracelynn, and that was a huge step for him. bringing home a different girl would be hard, but he just had to suck it up once the time came.
tyler flipped through the menu that was in his hands, basically knowing the menu like the back of his hand. he already knew what he was going to get, but there was no harm in looking through it to see if something else popped out to him. he slowly looked up from his menu after hearing keira ask him about practice. tyler nodded slowly. "practice was good," he replied. "the coach is going hard on us. y'know, trying to get us ready for the next game. but, it's going well. i'm liking it better here then i did in las vegas.." he closed his menu, placing it down in front of him as his blue eyes gazed over to his girlfriend. it felt nice to actually sit down with her and discuss things in their lives, since they never seemed to have the chance to before. "how's the spa going?" tyler went to ask more, but he was interrupted by the waiter standing beside their table, ready to take their order. "uh, i'll have the chicken quesadilla, with extra green peppers, and just a glass of water to drink.." tyler told him, before handing him his menu. the waiter quickly wrote down tyler's order, before turning to keira to take hers. after he wrote down keira's order, he took her menu and walked off. tyler watched him for a few seconds, before turning back to keira, a smile on his face. "so, how are you liking miami? i told you it wasn't that bad.."

keira had no past in miami. no memories. nothing much to look forward to other than spending her time with tyler. all she had was the future and all she hoped for it to be. she wasnt the type of girl to up and leave her home town for just anyone. not even her best friend kamryn who had moved to miami when they were teenagers. of course at the time, being the young and rebellious girl she was, keira most likely would have, if she had the chance. kam was like a sister and she was another reason why keira was less resistant to moving. of course, tyler was her main reason. growing up, she had fewer boy friends than some would assume. sometimes it was hard for her to keep a man in her life because of her stubborn attitiude. she wasnt one for conservative ways. she didnt believe it was necessairy for a women to subdue to a man. it was every woman for themselves and a lot of men didn't like that type of attidtude. it was more than a turn off than anything to have a girl friend in control but tyler was one of the few who could put up with keira and her nonesense. she even found herself changing her controlling ways for him.
which was why she choose to move to miami. it was the next step in their relationship. not only was it convient for tyler and his nba career but for hers as well. this meant that they would live closer to his parents and she knew, like most women, once she was introduced to a man's family she was meant to be a keeper. that was her goal. tyler was everything to keira and she anticipated a life with him. which made tonight more pressuring. her emotions running high with anxiety. there was only one thing on her mind. and that was a wedding proposal. this wasnt entirely normal. a wedding engagement was suppose to be a surprise, catching the women off gaurd but it was hard enough to get tyler to talk about the future. keira pushed the topic more than she should but it was all she could think about.
she rested her hands ontop of the menu was she turned her focus onto tyler. she couldnt help but admire him. she was a lucky girl. to get a gorgeous guy like tyler. not to mention he was rich and a nba star. and he sure did clean up well after practice. keira smiled warmly at his response to her question. it was always nice when the two of them could just spend some time to themselves and talk. "im glad. though i wish i got to see you more." that was the one thing that bothered her the most about his career. he was always at practices or games. "the spa is going good. a little hecktic with all the paper work..." keira went to rambled but turned her attention to the waiter who was now taking their orders. "ill have two chicken enchilads with extra sour cream on the side and a water as well" she replied after tyler. her focus went back to him within minutes as he asked another question. "i love it here its just gard to get use to. i mean the only people i know are you and kamryn." she admitted. keira wouldnt hide that fact from him. "soon enough ill know your family though." she commented. she was more than eager to meet them.
