does history repeat itself? throughout history, there have been heroes
and villians, locked in a never-ending struggle of good versus evil.
this much has always been true, and will always
be true. there has always
been hope for a better future – a better tomorrow – but will those hopes
ever be fulfilled?
the cure was meant to symbolize hope, and this better tomorrow. how did
it go so wrong? it was the cure that sparked so much controversy and made
the battle on alcatraz island possible. it was the cure that caused so much
fear and mistrust between mutants and humans.
one cannot forget those mutants in support of the cure, however. not every
one was born with powers that they are proud of, or that they enjoy having.
what about those lonely souls? can a cured mutant ever really
be human?
the newly-founded xavier center for research intends to determine just that.
what is this new 'cure' really capable of? what does it really
do to those
who take it? is it even possible to cure the mutant gene, once and for all?
these questions and more are the subject of intensive research by the center's
scientists. not everybody is happy over this questioning of the cure, however,
and not everyone is willing to stand by and let it proceed. the question is, how
far would people go to stop it? will they attempt to stop it at all?
months after the cure, it seems that the threat of open warfare looms on the
horizon. the world is beginning to unravel. is anybody truly safe anymore?
OUR SOLEMN HOUR is indeed upon us.
