Once they lived in peace, they could do as they pleased, go where they pleased, and they didn't have to fear walking outside and being beaten or arrested for something minor then being treated as if they murdered someone. Now the so called "mutants" of the world, those whose genes have mutated giving them powers, are forced to register their information, fingerprints, and DNA into a system like a sex offender. This system is known as MILS, the Mutant Identification and Location System, and it's practice was started in the US then spread through the world like wildfire, now every major country has it, and safe havens for mutants are few and far between.

However, since 2002 a school has stood where those who have gifts can go where they learn and live in peace. Even with the government cracking down on the "mutant threat" it remains open to the mutants of the world. Pallaton Academy is the foremost boarding school for gifted persons and is one of the top academic schools in the world. Here students are taught to live on their own, to take care of themselves, and to control their powers. People who don't feel the need to attend any sort of classes are welcome to live here as well, as this is a safe zone for mutants.

But how long can the school protect it's students and residents? Only time will tell.
