It was a really sunny day. Actually the sun was burning down from the sky. But that was just Miami, right? Especially in June, which already was a part of the summer, it could get awfully hot. And even if today wasn’t one of the hottest days they were going to have this summer, Robin still somehow wished she wouldn’t be out here.
It was one of those days again. Her mother had freaked out again this morning, going all fuzzy about the upcoming wedding and everything that needed to be done until then, and she had been about to force Robin into the car to drive to some super fancy clothing store when the seventeen year old girl had decided it was the best time to disappear. So she had just grabbed her bag from that stool in the kitchen, where it had been laying since she came home with it last. That was two days ago actually, because she hadn’t been able to escape her mother’s violent attacks in the last time.
Those days had been horrible. Best weather outside and Robin was stuck in a stinky wedding dress shop. Okay okay, it hadn’t been ‘stinky’, not literally at last, but it had been horrible for the girl anyway. Wedding dress shops were terrible, but they were even worse if you were in there with your totally freaked out mother, who was babbling constantly and forcing you to try on THOUSANDS of ugly, glittery and basically disgusting dresses. Robin didn’t really have something against dresses, they just weren’t her favorite stuff to wear. She preferred simple shorts and a nice shirt, like she was wearing today.
So, generally happy to be free for today, as her mother would be clever enough not to try and reach her on her mobile, the brunette girl was walking the beach in her Converse shoes. There was some font on their sides, saying “I ♥ …” with those three dots waiting to be filled out with whatever they loved, but Robin hadn’t done it. She found such stuff pretty ridiculous and definitely wouldn’t go and destroy her Converse like that. The probably only thing Robin liked about her mother transferring husbands that often was the money. Of course, there were other important things in the girl’s life, and she surely would be able to deal without a lot of bucks, but if you had them, why not spend them? So that always got Robin enough money to spend on that cool stuff she liked.
Absentmindedly staring at random people in bikinis and surfing shorts, Robin got her iPod Touch out of her jeans pocket and chose another song from her “favorite tunes” playlist. Valentine’s Day by that awesome band Linkin Park. Grinning a bit because of her liking the song so much, she put the iPod back into her pocket. The song really was an awesome one, but somehow she always got so impatient for the ‘hard’ part of it to begin. It really tickled in her fingers because of that, and when the part of the song finally began, her grin grew even wider.
With her mind on random things like music at the moment, she sadly didn’t notice the person who was approaching her. Unfortunately, the person didn’t seem to see her as well, and so, only a few moments later, Robin found herself pressed against some muscular, bare chest, lying on the sand.
