Though mostly that was because of the people that lived there not because of how it was. Dublin was a beautiful city in its own right. Not as grand as Miami but it was still where Devon liked to think of as home.
Slipping on her favorite pair of pink leopard print flip flops, she readjusted the black cover up she wore over the bikini she had found that matched her flip flops. She grabbed her keys, cellphone, sunglasses, and beach bag off of her counted and walked out her front door. As soon as she was outside of her door the smell of Miami hit her. She loved that smell: it was the ocean, food, and many other smells that if Devon were to think about what they were they might not be to appealing anymore. She turned back to her door and locked both the dead blot and the bottom lock. That was one thing she didn't like about Miami the crime, but hey there was always crime in big cities.
Smiling a greeting to her next door neighbor, Devon was off for a day at the beach. Today was the only day she had off this week from bartending at Platinum Plus. Platinum Plus was one of the many strip clubs in Miami. She thought it was a little ironic that she was inhibiting the one thing that had torn her family apart; drinking. But her thoughts on it now were, its not the will of the drink that breaks up the family its the will of the woman for the drink. And did her mother sure have a will for drinking. She shrugged her shoulders to herself and kept walking.
The brilliant Miami sun shone off Devon's red hair making it look like spun fire. That was the one thing that Devon loved, it was always sunny here. She walked the short distance down the boardwalk and stepped foot out on the hot sand for the first time that day. She slipped out of her flip flops and let the sand squish between her toes. With a sigh she sat down her bag and pulled out her towel. She spread it out neatly and lightly sat down. She pulled her cover over her head and laid back getting some much needed sun. A smile graced her glossed lips as she laid there thinking about her life her in Miami. The only thing that could make it better was if her father and Devlyn were there. And that was something that she knew would never happen. Flynn hated living in Miami. You couldn't see the River Liffey outside her bedroom window. She thought it was no where near as good as Dublin. Okay, perhaps that was being a bit harsh. Miami really wasn't all that bad and it offered a lot that Dublin didn't. Many more jobs opportunities for example, even with famous clients. As a photographer, that was somewhat crucial to her career. Not to mention the people were nice and the views were quite beautiful as well. But Flynn craved her home. Even if not Dublin, Ireland in general. She just missed it there and wished Eoghan wanted to go back.
Speaking of her husband, he was busy that day; as usual. Before she could let herself get too lonely, she decided to head down to the beach, one of her favourite parts of Miami, if she had to pick. Over her turquoise two piece she pulled on a gray maternity dress that flowed nicely over her 8 month pregnancy belly. She wasn't ashamed of it, she was overjoyed and proud. Besides, her body was still in fantastic shape. A few accents like flip flops that were bright added to the outfit and she grabbed sunglasses and a tote to take with her.
Since their place wasn't far from the beach, she decided to walk. Even while eight months pregnant, Fly liked to stay on her feet. That is, when they didn't hurt too much. Thankfully, today they didn't. Though even if they did, her car was available to take. Locking the place as she left, she made her way towards the beach. It was only about a five minute walk thankfully and she could see it as she headed down. Her feet transferred their steps from the ground to the wooden boardwalk and shortly from there to the warm sand that sunk between her toes with each step. It felt good on her feet and she couldn't help but smile. The beach was rather busy since it was such a beautiful day, there wasn't a cloud in the sky - something Dublin didn't have in common with Miami. But Flynn didn't mind clouds and rain, in fact, she missed it. Sighing to herself, she looked for a spot on the sand.
A distinct flash of red hair caught Flynn's sparkling eyes, making her head turn to gaze over where a young woman sat in the sand. It was the hair that was so similar to her own, not to mention the freckles. In fact, the two women could easily be mistaken for relatives, if not siblings and they had been before. She wasn't mistaken, was she? Had her eyes played a cruel trick on her? Slowly, she made her way to where the figure sat in the sand. "Devon?" she question, her Irish accent looming in the humid air. Her friend from back home, here before her? Was it seriously for real? She took a step closer and looked down over her protruding stomach to the red headed woman in the sand.
