Lily was quite sad when she noticed the ferris wheel had come to an end. She looked at the boy, and couldn't help but smiling. She could have, and very would have, spent the remainder of the night with him, staying up and talking and laughing her little mouse laugh. He intrigued her in a way that was foreign to Lily; and she liked it.
They reached the bottom and the worker leaped up on the platform, undoing their door. Coen was closest, so Lily watched as he climbed out of the car, and very soon followed, throwing her bag over her shoulder and looking up at him. He was incredibly tall, it made Lily feel like a little girl. She giggled at him. "Football? I'll have to come see you play sometime." she said, looking up into his eyes. It wasn't like she was that into sports, or that she really wanted to go see a sporting event either. More like she wanted to spend time with him again. It was telling Coen she was interested, in a very subtle way. Lily hoped he was gettting the picture.
"How old are you?" Lily asked, raising an eyebrow, so curious to know more and more about the boy. As they walked a bit away from the ferris wheel, Lily stopped walking. "Do you want cotton candy?" Lily asked, smiling really big like a child would. It sounded delicious to her, she didn't care if she seemed like a six year-old. "We could sit down somewhere and talk?" she asked, wondering what exactly the boy wanted to do at the moment.
dear coen, this is finished, wewt WEWT, i'm tired, rawrr.

coen was still nervous when they got off the ferris wheel. was this the end of their time together today? should coen ask for her number now, so that he didn’t miss out? jeez, he was getting ahead of himself here. coen usually just bathed in the moment, but now he was actually thinking about the future he had with this girl, if he so did have a future. would lily even give coen her number? coen didn’t know, and it worried him. usually with girls, by this point, coen had a pretty good idea if they were interested. but with lily, he just couldn’t tell, because he was spending most of his time thinking about what HE was doing, and not enough about her.
coen jumped out of the car first, and was followed by lily, who cutely giggled. he liked her laugh, it suited her, as it was cute. he wondered whether or not she liked it or not; from his experiences, girls seemed to had almost everything about themselves. smiling down at the girl as she told him that she wanted to come and watch him play one time, coens insides squirmed. she. wanted. to. watch. HIM. play. it was surreal, whether the girl was telling the truth or not. she didn’t seem to be the jock-lover that a lot of girls were, and he wondered whether or not she had meant what she said. maybe she was just being polite, or maybe she using this as a way to get to see the boy again. either way, he was excited, as soccer and lily both helped.
”im nineteen. twenty soon.” the boy nodded, in reply to the question lily had posed. he wondered whether she was younger than him, or whether she was older. he didn’t care either way, things like that weren’t important to the boy. “of course. my treat.” coen pulled his wallet out of his pocket, and found a couple of dollars for fairy floss. he loved the look lilly had no her face; she reminded him of a little kid; so excited. nodding to the girl, coen looked past her for somewhere to sit, but instead his eyes fell on his group of friends, standing a mere fifteen metres away from them. coen instinctively grabbed the girls hand and pulled her behind the cotton-candy stall, out of sight from the jocks that coen knew lily didn’t like. still holding the girls hand, coen peered around the corner making sure that they hadn’t seen it. luckily they had gotten away in time, though coen worried he had scared the girl with his actions.

"Me too." Lily said, in response to his age. It was nice to know he wasn't some old pervert. Not that he looked like one. But it was assuring to known. As soon as he had offered to pay for their cotton candy though, Lily shook her head. She was one of those girls that was pretty independent, and wanted to pay for her own stuff. Besides, she was the one that wanted cotton candy in the first place, why would she expect him to pay for it? They had just met. It wasn't right. Lily went to reach in her purse but was suddenly shaken up by the sudden palm pressed inside of hers. Lily squeezed it tight instinctively and was jerked behind the cotton candy stand, breathless at the sudden move Coen made.
It took a second for Lily to realize what had just happened, and even then she hadn't known exactly what was going on around her, or why they were hiding. She felt Coen's hand in hers though, it was much larger than hers and warm, but not sweaty or clammy. Lily couldn't help but blushing a bit, and smiled over at the boy. "That was smooth." she whispered, nodding softly in admiration of the boy's quick movement. Of course she was kidding, and paired this with a very soft laugh. After a while of thinking about why the hell they were hiding, she locked her eyes onto his group of jock friends.
"What are we gonna do about them!" Lily asked, laughing still very quietly. She pretended to hide behind Coen, letting her fingers slip away from his, but then stopped before they were completely unlaced. Slowly she let them wiggle back into his and squeezed tightly. She hadn't wanted to let go for some reason.
Lily wasn't feeling like herself around this boy; not that that was a bad thing. She wasn't as shy, and it was such a foreign thing for her to feel the way she did. She'd wanted to flirt for some reason, flirt shamelessly like there was no tomorrow. Lily forced herself not to though, shoving the butterflies back down her stomach to prevent a vomit of non-sense and teenage stupidity. Lily looked up at Coen for answers on what to do about his friends. How would she have known?

glad that he wasn’t robbing the cradle, or being cougar-ed by the girl, coen smiled as the girl told him her age. this meant that they were in the same year of university, unless she had deferred or repeated. which coen was fairly sure that she hadn’t. he doubted that they had any classes together, simply because of the differences in the courses they were studying; she was obviously focusing on special-education, whereas coen was majoring in maths and physics. to be honest, coen hadn’t even noticed that he was holding the girls hand. it wasn’t until she spoke, commenting sarcastically, but cutely, on the ‘smoothness’ of what he had done, that he looked down and saw his own hand clutching onto hers. strangely, he didn’t take it away, but merely looked up at the girls eyes and smiled, before returning to his position of spying on the boys that they were hiding from.
feeling the girl readjust her hold on his hand, or what he thought was her doing so, coen instinctively squeezed it. as she spoke, coens mind raced, trying to find an answer to the question she posed. he didn’t know how they could handle themselves with the boys, what they could do to avoid being given a load of shit from the group. coen knew his friends well, and he knew that they were going to give coen crap for this. not that there was anything wrong with lily, but just because coen was the youngest of all of them, and he was babied. plus, coen wasn’t a slut like the rest of them, so they knew it was special when he was with a girl. and they knew they had to wreck that.
coen pulled lily closer to the wall, as his friends joined the line of the cotton candy shop they were hiding at. the grin on his face was wide, and he was only just stopping himself from laughing out loud, but coen was dead serious about this. if lily met his friends, and i mean really met him, there were so many things that could go wrong. she could right him off, she could fall for one of those guys, or she could find out something embarrassing about coen. the boy was nervous, to say the least. “i have an idea.” he said, pulling the girl close to him again, as he whispered to her. coen spotted a train going past, one of the small ones that ferried people around the carnival. the boy quickly pulled lily over to it and jumped in one of the carriages, as it went around the cotton candy store and back the way that they had originally walked from. coen put an arm around the girl as they past his friends, who didn’t notice him until it was too late, and they were out of reach. showing a simple smile accompanied by a sarcastic wave, coen turned to face the right way, and returned his attention to the girl that was probably so sick of him by now.
D: sorry i couldnt write for some reason. hope this is okay, <3

Lily was wondering exactly what the boy was thinking, especially since he'd refrained from talking. They were being secretive, so Lily understood why. Still, she hid close to Coen's body, trying to avoid the terrible boys. She felt as if she was in 007. it made her laugh out loud, but she covered her mouth with her free hand, trying to conceal the mouse-laugh from escaping and catching the attention of anyone besides Coen.
Lily had started to hear Coen speak but was suddenly jerked in a different direction. One would have thought she'd been used to it the second time, but it still scared her, and she found herself stumbling into Coen's chest as they boarded the trolly. Lily had straightened her tiny little body up as tall as it would go, and looked at him, laughing a lot now. They had acted so childish, and Lily just couldn't help it. It seemed so different than anything she'd experienced before, especially with a guy.
Lily felt Coen's arm wrap around her and leaned closer to him, looking up at him with a half smile. She saw Coen wave at his friends a puckered up, blowing a kiss towards the group of boys and laughing. "Showing off?" Lily asked, looking at his arm around her and poking him in the side, teasing him. After a few moments of looking out side of the trolly, Lily spoke again. "How are you?" Lily said, getting tired from the day. Not that she was tired of Coen; she was just exhausted from running around.

okay, so coen probably should have told her what they were doing. he had a tendency to do that; just go off on his own accord, pulling along whoever was unlucky enough to get stuck with him. it was why he was so good at soccer; he was spontaneous, and opponents found his game hard to read. but coen had to feel for the girl, she was just pushed by coen, without even knowing what was going on. admittedly, he had done the only thing he could, but still, he could have told her what they were doing. but she played along with the part, even turning around to tease the boys that they were running from. he liked this girl, she seemed so... perfect for him.
smiling at the girl, a wink for congratulations on the effort she put in to tease the boys, and just all around helping the boy with his escape, coen made himself comfortable. ”i probably should have told you what the hell was going on, ha.” he said with a laugh, which was followed by another as the girl poked him. “why would i need to show off? they’re already jealous that your hanging with me.” he said, tilting his head cutely at the girl, the grin on his face somewhat childish.
as he was asked how he was, coen shrugged. it seemed like an odd question to ask, considering they had spent some time together now, but he was all the more happy to answer it because of this. “im kind of tired, haha.” coen answered, with a well timed yawn and a smile. he had had training this morning, so he was tired from that, regardless of whatever else he had done. he didn’t know what the girls plan was for the rest of the night, or whatever, he wondered whether she was planning on going to the bonfire. he wasn’t sure if he was yet, but he figured he’d know in due time. “are you okay?” the boy said, with a nudge to the girl. she looked... exhausted, coen just hoped that he hadn’t tired her out.

Lily couldn't have been more happy with Coen said he was tired. She nodded her head in agreement. Although they hadn't spent a terribly long amount of time with each other, the time they did was rather frantic which was quite enjoyable for a while, but soon left Lily worn out. "I'm so tired" Lily started to say, and was interupted by the sound of a familiar song. We Are Nowhere but It's Now by: Bright Eyes came blaring from her cell phone as she quickly scrambled around in her bag to find it.
As she answered, she heard a very familiar voice and smiled. "I've got meatloaf on the table and if you don't get your little ass home in ten minutes I'm feeding it to the neighbors dog. Besides, you've been out too long anyway." came the voice of her brother through the speakers. Lily laughed a bit and nodded. "Okay, I'll try to be home, but don't get your hopes up." Lily said with a smile on her face, taunting him. "DON'T GET MY HOPES UP? I'll feed you to the neighbors dog! Now get home or else." Her brother was so weird. Usually Lily would have argued some more such as 'or else, what?' or something along those lines, but she'd noticed Coen was staring very intently at her, and this made her just hang up the phone with a simple 'i love you.'
Lily turned to Coen and bit down on her lip. "I gotta get going home. Hayden's upset I left him." Lily said, shrugging her shoulders. "But you know what? I'm just gonna.. here wait, do you have a cell phone?" Lily asked, raising an eyebrow. "My number is 832-9294, call me sometime, and we'll hang out again. It was really really fun." Lily said with a warm smile. It was the most she'd been talking in a long time, but she had to frantically get home for fear of her favourite dinner being thrown to the dogs. Lily shuffled her feet closer to Coen and wrapped her arms around him. "It was so nice to meet you." Lily said in a soft voice towards his ear. Then, out of the blue, there was this dying urge inside of her to do something else. Usually this was more than enough of a goodbye, especially for someone she hardly knew. But this whole day entirely was so different, Lily figured 'why not?' and leaned over towards his cheek. She tip toed up as high as she could and pressed her lips against his cheek, pulling them off slowly, smiling. "Good luck with your friends." Lily said as she hurried off of the trolly, waving her hand goodbye at him, hoping he'd call her soon.

glad that the girl agreed with him, coen smiled down at her. who would have thought that these two would have went this well together; there was nothing that coen didn’t like about the girl. she was smart, she was funny, she was pretty, and she didn’t care about any of his faults. like being a jock, she was willing to overlook that, and that earnt brownie points for the girl. most girls wouldn’t look past that, and coen was surprising limited to the girls who only ‘went’ with jocks, and to be honest, they didn’t even rate when compared with lily. the boys stomach tightened when the girl spoke, perhaps it was her accent, or just her, but the feeling put a smile straight onto coen’s face. why was the boy acting like a fifteen year old boy in love? thats just what lily did to him. nodding, coen watched the girl pick up her phone. he even liked her ringtone, thats how perfect this girl was for him. he almost stared at the girl as he watched her talk, wondering who was on the other end, and why they were ringing her now? why were they ruining this for him? he almost worried that it was one of his mates; someone that was actually deliberately trying to ruin this for the love-stricken nineteen year old. as she spoke, he listened for key words, forgetting that the girl could actually see him, and that she was probably thinking less of him now for staring. but what else was he going to do, he wasn’t just going to casually stare at the ground or something.
nodding, unable to find the words to reply to the girl, coen immediately got out his phone and punched the numbers into the keys; making sure that he didn’t miss one. he didn’t know what he’d do if he couldn’t get the girls number, and probably, in a town as big as miami anyways, never see her again. ”yeah. i definitely will.
[/b]” he said with a smile, not knowing what else to say, and crawling back into his shell, all thanks going to not knowing what he was going to do next. wrapping his muscular arms around the girl, coen didn’t want to let go, but as the girl pulled away, he simply let her. “ the pleasure was all mine. i don’t know what i would have done without you.” he said with a wink to the girl, still staring at the girl that was leaving him now. he couldn’t take his eyes off her. blushing deeply as she kissed his cheek, coen once again got nervous, and simply let her, kicking himself that he didn’t take it onto himself to do something like the girl. as the girl walked away, coen turned around and started back towards his car. he didn’t want to deal with his friends, not now. he didn’t want to tell them that he’d chickened out. he didn’t want to tell them the details. he just wanted to go home, call her, and get to see her again very, very soon.
