Hope walked into the entrance of the carnival and held out her hand to get stamped with a huge (V) on the top of her hand. She glanced at it and sighed. No, it didn't mean 'virgin'. It meant volunteer, a position Hope wasn't planning on taking upon herself when she first decided to go to the carnival. She was still basically new to Florida and she was planning on getting to know what it was like around her neighborhood. Hope wasn't going to make best friends but at least smiling at someone would go a long way. She was stepping out of her comfort zone for once but her grandparents threw a twist at her that she couldn't really say no to. She had agreed to be a volunteer in order to make her grandparents happy but she was now regretting ever agreeing before hearing which booth she was going to be at. The kissing booth wasn't what she expected to come out of her grandmothers mouth.
Hope walked to the kissing booth in the middle of the carnival and waved to the coordinator. "Hi. Hope Summers," she extended her hand and the women took it immediately. "Thanks for doing this. Nice outfit by the way, the guys will love it." Raising an eyebrow Hope looked down to her outfit, a tight but appropriate skirt with a tank top. Hope didn't care to argue with her that she didn't dressed up and walked onto the stage. She felt eyes on her and glanced at the line of guys staring at her. Sighing Hope took the stool facing the line and waited for the first person to come on stage. An old man slowly walked on stage and Hope hid her laughter by biting down on her bottom lip. "Hi," she stated simply as he took the stool across from her. Hope didn't know what to do as she stared at the man. "Are you going to kiss me or what?" the man asked and leaned forward closing his eyes. "Uh...yeah. Of course," she spoke timidly and leaned forward to give him a peck on the lips. "Bye sweet thing," Hope stared at him wide eyed and wiped her lips on the back of her hand. This would be a long day.

the carnival was beyond lame, the rides where shit, there were twelve year olds everywhere, and it was hot as africa outside, and well spencer, he wasn't a huge fan of the heat. wearing a plain black tshirt and a pair of old cargo shorts, the twenty one year old walked aimlessly around the carnival, debating on whether he should waste his money on overpriced food, or one of those impossible to win games. he stopped by a hot dog stand and debated what to do. pushing his hair back, he decided to go for the game. if he won, he'd have a retarded stuffed animal that he could give to a girl, and if he lost, well it wasn't like he wouldn't be able to find some girl to complain about the game with. rubbing his eyes quickly, he walked over to the first game booth he saw. it was the one where you had to throw a baseball and knock the bottles down. shoving his hands in his pocket, spencer pulled out a few crumpled bills and gave them to the stupid carnie wearing a trucker hat. he picked up the first of three balls and whipped it at the bottle pyramind. he knocked one over and let out a frustrated sigh, picking the second on up, he threw it again, although this time he threw it harder, knocking three over. there was one left, one bottle, on ball. he threw the ball and watched as it grazed the bottle, hitting it enough to knock it over. a surprised smile appeared on his face as he was tossed a brown stuffed teddy. putting it under his right arm, he turned around and tried to dig out his phone from his pocket.
he never got his phone out because his attention was caught by something else. there was a kissing booth, well more like a girl on stage on a stool who kissed whoever sat across from her. he felt his heart race a bit as he noticed a skinny, leggy, brunette who seemed hot just from what she was wearing, but unfortunatly she was mid kiss with some old guy, and her face was hidden. once the two broke apart, spencer noticed it was hope - the girl who only made him want her more with ever no she told him. looking at her for a spilt second, and then down at the stuffed animal, he got a plan. running over to the line, spencer kind of pushed his was through some people, ignoring some rude comments, and went on the stage when the current guy had gone.
"for you." he said in a charming voice, holding out the stuffed animal he had won for her, before sliding onto the opposite stool from her. her dark brown hair glowed in the sunlight, and she truly did look gorgeous, especially in that skirt.

Hope wanted to get the hell out of there. She still felt the old mans lips on her own and cringed. Hope waved the women over for a water bottle and smiled at her as she handed it over. Taking a gulp Hope watched the line shift as the next person was getting ready to step onto the stage. She was preparing herself for him to be some creep who liked to hum the Star Wars theme song while he kissed. Instead she saw the one person she was trying to avoid lately: Spencer Wells. He had started hitting on her ever since the moment he laid eyes on her and Hope had been rejecting him since then. Sure, he was hot but that womanizer attitude wasn't a huge turn on. A young man, probably seventeen or so had already walked on stage and sat across from her. He coughed to catch her attention and Hope looked at him. "Oh, sorry." Hope leaned foward, placing a hand on his cheek and kissed him softly. "Bye," she told him with a smile as the teenager walked off with a dazed smile.
She watched Spencer push his way through the line and Hope ran a hand through her hair with a frown. He walked onto the stage and sat down across from her, handing her a stuffed teddy bear. His voice entered her head and she ignored the charm dripping off his voice. "Thanks Spence! Now if you wouldn't mind, get off the stage," she told with a small smile and kept the teddy bear in her lap. It was a cute gesture but there was no way in hell she was going to let him know that. She looked at him and saw why he was so liked by the girls but there was something about him that spelled heart break. That was the last thing she wanted for herself. "Uhm...excuse me. You can't say that, dear. These guys are paying good money for charity to get up on stage with you." Hope looked at the lady who was off the stage but leaning on it to speak to her. She sighed and nodded to look back at Spencer. "What are you doing here?" she asked him quietly and heard the line start to talk out of frustration but she didn't really care. "Are you trying to embarrass me or do you really want to kiss me that badly?" she asked him with a seductive smirk and lifted her hand to fix a piece of hair that fell on his face. Hope glanced at the lady and she looked content with the fact off the appearance of flirting going on between them. Hope looked at him with a shake of her head, frustrated that he was getting to her especially since she had no choice.

he grinned as she took the small teddy, knowing the key to any girls heart was to give her lots of small, cute, surprise gifts. it always tok them by surprise and instantly put them in a good mood. his grin soon turned into a smirk at her comment about getting off the stage, and was about to let a quick, smarty assy comment slip, but was beaten to it by a lady leaning on the stage, who clearly had been in charge of the booth. "exactly." spencer nodded and hope and then turned to the lady. "thank you." he told her, holding back the cocky grin that was itching to appear on his face. he turned back to hope, giving her that shit eating grin he had given so many people when he knew and they knew, they were going to have to do what he wanted. it was just a kiss, spencer didn't know what she was getting her panties in such a twist. it wasn't like she had to sleep with on stage - spencer was thinking maybe they'd go to the beach, or somewhere a little more comfortable and romantic for that. but he was getting ahead of himself. he knew girls like hope. the ones that played extremely hard to get. he hated them so much, but couldn't get enough of them at the same time. they were such teases, and made ever other girl seem like second best. he wasn't going to be able to enjoy hooking up with anyone until he had finally over come this barrier hope was putting up.
he sat down on the stool across from her and looked at her as she spook. his smile disappearing, and a more serious look appearing on his face. "i think it's kind of obvious what i'm doing here." he said in a matter of factly tone to her. a bit of him thought she might be a little slow, it was a kissing booth, what did she people came her for, to get corndogs? but he pushed the thought of hope being dumb from his mind and frowned at her next comment. "no... i just wanted to give you the bear and get a kiss..." he said his voice not dropping to the whisper hers had become. "i just wanted to make your day a little more special" his voice was light and flirty as he looked at her, bringing one hand up to scratch the back of his neck at they sat there. the line was getting a bit restless, but spencer didn't care, they could suck it. "and yeah, i kind of do, like really badly." his voice dropping to a lower, sexier tone as he leaned in forward a bit, mirroring her as she fixed a hair that had fallen in his face. "so about the kiss..." he grinned at her, knowing she had no other choice.

Hope glared at Spencer as he agreed with the lady leaning on the stage. He was obviously thorougly enjoying this whole situation. She didn't think the kiss was such a big deal but the fact that Spencer was the one she was kissing. He wasn't ugly or anything like that but he had been trying so hard to get with her that it was almost fun turning him down. Part of her really wished Spencer wasn't such a self-proclaimed player or else they could have been a hot couple. She glanced down at the teddy bear in her hands before looking back up Spencer who now started to talk to her. She stared him straight on as he flirted with her. It was funny that he was still trying so hard when just moments before Hope told him to get off the stage and really, out of her face. Hope's eyes darted to the line of guys waiting with tickets in their hands but Spencer, for once, was more interesting than anything else. She didn't say anything as his voice dropped lower and Spencer admitted his want to kiss her.
Hope let out a deep breath as he leaned forward. Hope, being the stubborn girl she was, stood up and placed the teddy bear on her seat. The women looked at her and shook her head. Hope wanted to get off the stage and hit the lady who was now talking to her like a 5 year old. She turned to Spencer and pulled him to stand up gently by his shirt. Hope looked into his eyes for a moment and then to his lips. "FIne." Hope pulled him to her by his shirt and pressed her lips against his. Wrapping her arms aound his neck Hope found herself enjoying the kiss a lot more than she expected. Slowly, her lips moved against his and she bought her body closer to his. Her nails grabbed softly onto his shirt as their lips created some kind of electricty between them.
Relunctantly, Hope leaned back from the kiss and stared at him. "Uh..." she paused and took her arms back. She took her teddy bear from the stool and her bag from the floo. "I can't do this. I'm sure there is some adolescent girl who hasn't gotten boobs yet who would love to be up here," she told the women bluntly and looked at the line. They all seemed to want to be on the stage even more after seeing the kiss between Hope and Spencer. "Can you die happy now?" she asked him playfully and gave him a grin but a shake of her head. It was pure luck that she would be on that stage during the carnival or else Hope would have neve given Spencer a chance to kiss her. Pat of Hope was glad that she was on that stage too. She looked at him once in his eyes before turning to walk off the stage. Her lips still tingeled from being against Spencers and as she touched her lips Hope realized she would have a lot to think about that night. She slowed down and stopped at a slushie stand. Pulling out a 5 dollar bill Hope held it in her hands as she waited for a raspberry slushie. She stood there praying to herself that Spencer wouldn't follow her. outfit

he watched as hope squirmed - figuratively in the situation. he grinned just waiting for her to finally kiss him, he knew he had her, finally he was going to get what he wanted. it had been hard, and it wasn't over, because he still needed to sleep with her, but just getting the kiss would be an accomplishment. you would think that after countless rejection he would just give up, but it was the complete opposite. the more she said no, the more he wanted her more. he shot the lady running the booth a boyish grin, feeling like it was all thanks to her that he would be getting kissed. and he couldn't help but feel like she was on his side. hope needed to let go, stop making such a big deal about it and just give in to his charm - like all the other girls he had been with. he was such a jerk with women, it kind of surprised him how many he had managed to get so many.
he was caught by surprise when she pulled him in by the shirt. "fiesty" he mumbled against her lips before pressing his own agaisnt hers. his hands found her waist and pulled her in closer, and his lips pressed a little harder, intensifying the kiss. he could vaguely feel her nails in his skin, as the kept kissing their lips seemed to be drawn to each other like magnets. it was terrible when she pulled away. he was so confused for a second. he could hear some clapping and saluted the crowd as he heard hope say something about not being able to keep at it and watched her wonder off stage. he just grinned at her last comment about dying and turned to go off the stage and head home when he noticed that there was some paper on the floor where he bag had been. picking it up her followed her off to the slushie stand. "you dropped this." he said holding the paper out to her. "so i was thinking, i just got the tv in my hotel fixed, you should come over and we can watch a movie."

Hope hadn't tasted lips so delicious in a long time. Her mind kept replaying the kiss over and over in her head as she waited for the man to hand her slushie over. She opened her bag and took out her cell phone to check the time. She had only been on the stage for 15 minutes and she was already feeling hot and bothered. And not because of the heat beaming down on the carnival. Hope sighed and crossed her arms over chest and looked down at her feet, her heart rate finally slowing down. Spencer's voice filled her head and for a quick moment she thought that she was going crazy but she looked up to see Spencer in front of her.
Taking the paper from him Hope stuffed it in her bag without even reading it. She listened to his invitation and grinned. "Are you asking me out? Or are you asking me to come to your place, watch a movie for like 20 minutes, and then hook up?" she asked him and turned to the slushie stand. Handing him her five dollars she took the slushie in return. Taking a sip Hope waited for her change. She almost felt bad for a moment for being so mean to Spencer, especially after their kiss. "Sorry," she let out and looked at him. "I don't think you understand, even after all the times I've rejected you, that I don't want a random hookup." Hope took her two dollar change and put it in her bag. "I want to give you a chance but I..." she paused and looked at him in his eyes. Those beautiful blue eyes. She was loosing her train of thought but recovered quickly. "You need to prove yourself a little. The teddy bear was a good first try," she told him with a smile and looked down at it. "What else do you plan on doing?" she asked him and took a sip of her slushie. She gestured towards the long plain the carnival was on and started walking, half hoping Spencer would walk with her.

had he any money left, he would have paid for her drink, but after spending it on the game, and the kissing booth ticket, he didn't. dammit. he thought as she watched her hand over the money and get the change. her dark brown hair dancing slightly in the little breeze that blew by. "does it really matter? we can do either... or both." he grinned at her, fighting back every urge to just pull her close and kiss her like he did on the stage again. his smile faltered at her words about wanting more than a hook up and he just shoved his hands in his pockets. spencer wells did not date. the longest relationship he had was his senior year old high school, it lasted four days, and it was with his prom date who was under the impression if she slept with him, he'd be her boyfriend. "well... if you want more..." he trailed off, trying to decided what to do. he could bail on the whole operation get into hope's pants, or he could keep trying and try to man up and give a relationship a shot. he frowned and scratched his head. "i dunno.." he muttered and watched her walk away for a second, before jogging after her, he could do it, pretend to be a better guy.
"what do i need to do?" he asked as he caught up to her, thinking the best way to show her he was serious about changing was to ask her, so he didn't fuck it up. "let me take you to a nice restuarant, we can get italian, greek, indian.. whatever you want." he said, hoping to god she didn't choose some expensive asian restaurant, he hated foreign food, and defiantly didn't want to pay a ton for dinner, only to get fucking weird food he couldn't eat. "i'll be the perfect gentlemen, just give me a chance."

Hope looked away from him and held her slushie in both of her hands. She wanted to give Spencer a chance for two reasons. Most of the time he acted sweet and charming but there was the 10 percent chance that made her want to walk away. And two...he was hot. One of the most attractive guys he's seen in a long time. Hope took a long sip of her drink after she spoke, her mind racing with thoughts of what could be between them. But she tried her best to not dwell too much of Spencer, she was planning on leaving anyway. In the meantime, she thought that she might as well have some fun and try to get Spencer the right way. She wasn't going to risk getting her heart broken though. His words made her look up at him and she smiled. Hope shrugged as he asked her but she really did want to tell him something. She had never been in situation like this.
"Since you're asking me my preference...are there any good burger places around here?" she asked him and stopped walking as they reached a bench. Sitting down Hope pulled his hand to sit down next to her. She looked at him for a moment and took a sip of her slushie as she thought about whether or not she should give that handsome boy a chance. Hope looked away to the ground and leaned back in her seat. He was trying and Hope had to give him that. "Sounds good." She knew he was used to the more physical part of a relationship and despite how stubborn she was being with him, she enjoyed that part a lot more than the emotional sometimes. Hope was actually starting to like Spencer...he had been the only guy in a while that fought for her. "So...that kiss. On a scale of one to ten, how was it? I need to know how to improve," she took a sip of her slushie and looked at him innocently. "I thought it was pretty good," she told him honestly. Hope didn't like to hide her feelings when it came to stuff like this. Hopefully, Spencer would appreciate her bluntless after time. And maybe hearing she liked it would make him kiss her again. He was confusing the hell out of her because she wanted his body but she also wanted to be with someone, not just having sex with them. She thought she was doing a pretty good job at sticking to her guns but it was becoming really hard. [ooc] hope its okay (: outfit

he was pulled down beside her, as her smaller, more delicate hand slipped in his. there hands were intwined for a second too long, and while it felt nice having a warmer one in his hand, it felt awkward and weird, and too pda. and that was one thing spencer hated, public displays of affection. he shook his hand from her grip and grinned. "well besides mcdonalds, and burger king, i know a few decent places. but i'm surprised, not gonna lie, you seem like the kind of girl who would want something a little more exotic than a burger - not that that's a bad thing." he clarified, not wanting her to think anything bad, it was good actually. it made her seem more real, and down to earth, he didn't even know if that made any sense, but all he could think of was that it was super hot she wanted a burger, like she didn't care about calories like all those other girls. not that he thought she would need to be watching her weight.
"the kiss, eh it was alright." he shrugged, playing it cool. in all honesty it was defiantly one of the best ones he had in a long time, but he wasn't going to just flat out tell her, no he had a plan. "don't get me wrong, it was a good one, but the rhythm was off or something, there was just something that needed to be improved. i'd be more then willing to give it another go." he grinned at her, squinting a little as the sun glared into his eyes. oh what he would do for a pair of sunglasses, and to kiss her soft lips again. his gaze traveled from her green eyes to her luscious lips, his tongue darting out a bit to quickly lick his own as he looked at them.

Hope grinned at him as he spoke about her want for a good burger. She had never been the kind of girl that wanted some fancy dinner that only served little portions like they were on a crazy diet. She wanted real food that would fill her stomach and not little pieces of chicken that looks really pretty on a plate. "I'm a lot different than you probably think," she told him with a shrug and she crossed her legs. "I really don't mind where we go, that's not what I'm looking forward to." She looked at him and took in his face for a moment before looking away to the crowd. It wasn't like New York where the streets were always crowded near Central Park but the busy carnival gave her a slight reminder of home. Hope used her straw to mix around the slushie as Spencer repsonded to her question.
She looked up at him as he just called it 'alright'. Raising an eyebrow Hope looked at him and felt herself getting angry that he wasn't talking so fondly of it. She wouldn't tell him it out loud but she was slightly proud of how good of a kisser she was or how good she was in bed. Hope took a long sip of her slushie until he spoke his last words to her with a devilish grin. She grinned as he licked him lips but she was having a hard time deciding whether to kiss him or not. Hope looked away for a moment and looked at the crowd again. She wasn't very into the whole PDA thing because she hated the attention. It was different at bars when guys looked at you because thats the kind of attention that builds your self-confidence. But in public, it was almost annoying to be stared at when you're kissing someone else. Hope glanced at Spencer for a moment and couldn't resist his eyes or his lips. He wasn't good for her and yet she wanted more. Leaning Hope bought her face close to his and smirked at him, "So you want to teach me or what?" she asked him and leaned in closer, her lips daringly close to his. She kissed him gently and closed her eyes as she kept her hands around her slushie, wanting to see where he would take this. She couldn't believe she was kissing some guy she hadn't know for very long or was rejecting relentlessly before the Carnival but there was something about him. Kissing wasn't having sex so she wasn't freaking out that much. The taste of his lips made her feel a lot better about the situation, anyway. outfit
