   his laptop shut with a soft click and adoniah gently set it down on the nightstand next to his bed before he fully focused his attention onto the tv screen. they were playing a marathon on power rangers and he had been glued to the screen all day. it's funny though, because when he was younger he had no real interest in the power rangers and then suddenly around the age of about thirteen it became his favorite show. not that he would ever actually admit to that. after all, he was nineteen now. power rangers, not really cool to admit to liking anymore.
adoniah shrugged lightly as he grabbed another handful of apple jacks and quickly shoved them all into his mouth before reaching for the glass of cold milk that was next to him. this was so much easier than using a bowl and a spoon. he looked down at his chest when he finally swallowed and frowned when he noted that it looked even more red than it had only a couple of hours ago. maybe being at the beach for eight hours with no sunblock had been a bad idea after all. at least he would get a good tan out of the deal when his burn finally faded.
he glanced at his clock before he sighed softly, wondering when gem was going to show up. he was already becoming bored of watching power ranger re-runs and was dying to find something else to do. he pushed himself up against his headboard and glanced around his room for anything that could keep him interested until his friend showed up. he ended up grabbing his laptop once more so he could play solitaire for a while. after nearly three games and a major up in his frustration level he heard the doorbell ring and a minute later the front door opened, meaning his sister had let gem in and that he wouldn't have to get up. which worked out perfectly for him since he hadn't planned on getting up and losing his comfortable spot in the middle of his bed.

   Gem done exactly what she said she would, she stayed in her bikini "he won't be able to resist me now" she grinned as she walked up to his house.
She ran her fingers through her hair before gently knocking on the door.
She stood there for a while with her smile on her face which soon dropped when his sister opened the door "oh hi, um is Niah there?" she said feeling pretty embarrassed that she was stood there in her bikini.
She moved aside to let Gem in and so she slowly stepped inside "in his room?" she asked pointing upstairs, his sister nodded so Gem got on her way. She doesn't talk much she thought as she made her way to Niah's door.
She began to get excited now because she remembered Niah was only in his pants.
She gently knocked on the door and walked in and there he was laying on his bed in only his pants "wow nice" she winked as she dumped her bag on the floor and got on the bed beside him.
"you are looking hot Niah" she grinned cheekily and then she reached over and took some of his apple jacks.
"You like my bikini yes?" she giggled slightly as she stuck an apple jack in her mouth.
She looked down at her body and smirked, it wasn't that bad and her bikini made things seem bigger than what they actually are.
She was sure he would like it, he is a guy, what guy wouldn't?
She wasn't vain, she just had confidence and today she was bursting with it, she always was when she spoke to Niah, he always gave her a confidence boost even if he just smiled at her.
She really liked him and by the way he acted she was sure he liked her too.
To shy to make a move I bet she thought was she looked at him, she decided to wait a while to see what happens, surely he would make a move soon? If he likes her as much as shes sure he does then he should make a move any time soon. She would just have to be patient, even though that is really hard for her, she wishes everything would happen when she wants it too.

why was solitaire so difficult? adoniah huffed lightly as he started a new game once he had run out of moves on his old one. he had never been good at card games, even go fish. it was rather pathetic actually, in his own opinion. well, in just about every ones opinion that he had ever played cards with. it wasn't very often that he won and when he did, you knew that you were absolutely the worst card player in the world. adoniah gave up rather quickly into his new game and set his laptop down on the bed besides him and closed it. he would play that again later once he could fully focus and when he had time to relax.
adoniah looked up when his door opened and he flashed gem a smile as she sat down next to him on his bed. his source of entertainment had finally arrived and adoniah was eager to do anything as long as it didn't involve power rangers. "you are looking hot niah." the statement made him nod his head, "i know, right? if you get too hot let me know, i can leave the room." adoniah laughed as he grinned at her. "yeah, i like it. it looks good on you." he agreed before he turned his attention the television for a couple seconds and frowned. he reached for his remote and changed the channel. that was the third time that they had played that episode in only a span of four hours. he stopped it on a cooking channel as he stared at what they were making for a few moments before he focused on gem.
they had an odd relationship, he decided quite a while ago. they flirted like crazy and he had even been asked on several occasions if they were dating. it wasn't as if he had some massive crush on his close friend, he just liked flirting with her. it was fun because she returned his teasing and it was comfortable he supposed. not too many of his girlfriends responded to his flirting like she did; either they would seriously flirt back or get angry with him. shockingly, when you flirt with someone they can see it as leading them on when you have no intentions of ever actually being with them. he saw it as harmless fun and apparently gem did as well.

"oh no the temperature is just right" she grinned "yeah, i like it. it looks good on you" she heard him say and her smile grew "aww thank you, you look good in your pants you should stay in them forever" she laughed as she put one of her legs on top of his and began rubbing his leg with hers.
She reached one hand over and ran her fingers though his soft brown locks "I don't think your sister likes me much...have I done anything wrong?" she asked. His sister didn't give hi the best welcome when she knocked on the door and she had no idea why "does she think I'm gonna steal your brothers innocence?" she smirked "you probably don't even have it...but then I can't blame you because I don't either"she said "but believe me I am a natural at it" she said teasing him by taking her hand down from his head and then put it on his body and stroked it a little "I see abs coming" she laughed as she gently poked him "your getting there, soon you'll be muscle man of the world".
You wait he will lean over and kiss me any second now she thought to herself, she just knew it. She got up and went over to her bag on the floor, she bent over and began digging through her bag and then pulled out lip gloss "I bought this the other day, what do you think?" she asked lifting up the lip gloss tube then she began to put it on her lips "mmm, cherry" she grinned, she loved to tease it was fun. He was amazing, he didn't mind her flirting with him which was good but then that must mean he fancies her, it must do! Why else would he let her flirt and he flirts back?
She got back on the bed and moved herself closer to him and settled her head on his shoulder "what do you feel like doing?" she asked looking up at him with her brown eyes and done a little side smile.
Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me she chanted in her head.

adoniah frowned lightly when gem practically laid on top of him, rubbing his leg with her own but he shook it off rather quickly. she touched him quite often and by now, he was rather use to it and didn't think so much of it like he once had. "well i don't know about that, i need to shower at some point so they're gonna have to come off." he joked lightly as he turned his attention to the television once more. at least, until he was able to feel a hand running through his hair. he had to admit, that felt rather good; he'd always liked it when people touched his hair or messed with it. he couldn't keep the frown off of his face at her next few words. he didn't think his sister would have any reason to be mad at her, they didn't even really know each other. it was probably just a girl thing. "uh, well, no. i mean, i don't think so. hah, she already knows theirs nothing to steal, i'm sure." considering the fact that he'd brought quite a few of his ex girlfriends up to his room for sleepovers he assumed that she knew of that fact. it was one of his favorite things about living in a different country than his parents actually. he didn't even have to hide any of them.
he couldn't stop himself from jumping lightly as her hand ran down his chest and focused on his abs. "psh, i already have abs, who are you kidding?" he joked with a grin. honestly, having the most muscular body wasn't such a big deal to him - it was far too much work. he turned his head and followed her with his eyes as she walked over to her bag and grabbed her lip gloss and put some on. "i like it, although i personally prefer strawberry over cherry. it smells better." he didn't have to wait very long before she was next to him again with her head on his shoulder. "what do you feel like doing?" her question made him pause as he thought about something that would be entertaining. "actually, i just got this new racing game the other day and haven't really had a chance to play it." adoniah had been pretty excited to get it and then realized as soon as he had gotten home that he had to be at work in less than fifteen minutes which meant he hadn't even had the chance to truly test it out yet.

She frowned a little when he mentioned the racing game "racing game? Yeah sounds good" she said with a fake smile "but you know I'll whoop your ass" she grinned, she tried to ignore the fact she didn't get what she wanted. Maybe he is just nervous? she thought to herself, she decided she just was gonna have to wait.
come on then lets play!" she said pushing all the sadness aside and just tried to be happy.
She isn't really that good at racing games but she was just gonna have to get on with it.
Him not kissing her there and then knocked her confidence a bit. Does he not see that we are good together? she thought to herself.
She would just have to play the waiting game, he'll come around.
Does he not find her attractive? She has never felt that way before over a guy, so why, why won't it work? Maybe she had to try harder? Play hard to get? Or get with someone else and make him jealous, he'll realize that he is missing then and he will regret it!
"so...got yourself a girl yet? or looking for a girl or even got your eye on a certain girl?" she asked. Jealously surged though her. She hoped he doesn't say anyone else because that will kill her.
She ran her fingers through her hair and sighed a little and then looked at Niah and smiled "you know what? It is pretty hot" she said standing up and opening a window.
Her mind began filling up with loads of different ideas on how to get Niah; maybe he was attracted to her but just a bit shy? Or maybe he is scared she don't like him back but I do! she thought.
This was starting to really, really frustrate her , what does a girl have to do to get the guy she really, really likes? Surely it can't be that hard? She isn't ugly, so surely he must be attracted to her in someway?

"i guess that could be it. uhh no, hadi is many things but shy is not one of them." adoniah said before he laughed. "maybe, you did show up in just your bikini." he smirked at that because he honestly didn't think that she would. he had expected her to show up all dressed up but was relieved that she hadn't, otherwise he would have had no choice but to actually put on at least a pair of jeans. he noted her frown and was ready to suggest something else when she smiled at him. it wasn't quite like her other smiles though. he was tempted to say something about it but decided against it, it was pretty stupid anyways and he was most likely just over-reading her. he looked at her when she spoke and shook his head with a smile, like she would ever beat him at a video game. "oh i highly doubt that will be happening." he said with a smug smirk on his face. he had played it for a couple of hours the other day and had to admit that it was slightly difficult but he had done pretty good on it. "in fact, i'm certain that i'll be the one kicking your ass." he grinned at her before he slid off of his bed and turned on his wii, which already had the game in it, before he grabbed their controllers. he turned them on on his way back to the bed before he climbed on it and sat down back in his spot and handed gem her controller. he reached over to grab his remote and change the tv to the proper channel before he set it down beside himself in case he needed it again. "so...got yourself a girl yet? or looking for a girl or even got your eye on a certain girl?" he looked up at gem as she spoke before he shook his head in the negative. looking for a girlfriend was the last thing on his mind at the moment. "nah, i'm not really looking for a relationship right now. i just wanna have some fun right now and not get into any serious." it was true. he wanted a simple, uncomplicated, easy girl who he could play around with and not have any strings attached. unfortunately, he had yet to find such girl. it was actually rather shocking to him how many just wanted to be in a relationship and weren't up to messing around. he frowned lightly at that, he definitely needed to make some new girl friends at parties preferably. adoniah looked up at gem when she rose from the bed and headed for the window saying that it was in fact hot. he nodded in agreement but that could have just been his sunburn talking. he frowned when he looked at her face; she looked like something was bothering her, in fact, she seemed a bit frustrated by something. "are you ok, gem? you look like there's something on your mind."

She watched the TV screen as the Wii menu came up then looked at Adoniah "nothing just, the heat is getting to me a little" she lied. She walked back to the bed and grabbed her controller "let's play" she said trying to sound happy but she is sure it failed.
She turned to Adoniah and sighed "truth is, I like this guy and this guy doesn't feel the same and I really like him...what do I do? I thought I'd ask you...seeing as your a guy and all" this was a big risk she was taking, she just had to hope he didn't figure out it was him she was talking about.
Maybe if he gives her some advice, it will help her get him, it's a hope she wasn't sure if it would work and it is a serious risk because if he did figure that it was about him then she is pretty sure their friendship will be left in tatters.
It will end up scaring him away and she will have no one to be by her side when she needs him. She was so sure he liked her, so, so sure but it doesn't look like he does. Then she thought back to the reason why might be because he was shy but she just didn't want to take a risk.
She sat there nervously waiting for his reply; she couldn't look at him so she just kept her eyes on the TV screen and fiddled with her fingers, which she does when she gets scared or nervous.
"please, please, please don't let this ruin our friendship" she thought.
She thought Niah was amazing and if she can't be in a relationship with him then she still wanted to be in a friendship with him, even though she had to suffer as she watched him date girls, but she thought one day he will notice that she is the one.
She took her eyes off the screen and looked at Niah what is going through his mind? Is it good or bad? she thought; she was seriously stressing out.

"well...maybe, you should just move on? i mean, if he doesn't like you already than he probably never will and you're really just hurting yourself if you keep thinking about him all the time." he really hoped that it was the worst advice she had ever been given but he figured that it probably was. advice about guys wasn't exactly his strong suit but if it helped her out with her problems, then he supposed he could give it a try. he glanced over at her and frowned when he noted how nervous she looked but he didn't say anything about it. maybe she just wasn't really comfortable asking him questions about how to get guys? he had to admit though, he wasn't too much help. "I can't move on Niah...I really, really can't but I mean...yo erm this guy should like me soon...I hope but then maybe my hopes are too high?" she said.
She almost slipped up and said 'you' instead of 'this guy' but hopefully she covered up without him noticing.
"i guess you could just tell him how you feel, maybe he does feel the same but he just doesn't know how to tell you?"
She held her breath for a second..."I could tell this guy...but how? I mean should I waltz up to him and be all like "hey I like you a lot" or just like grab him and kiss him?" she said, as she said it she decided the latter wouldn't be the best option.
"His name? Er...his name is er...Josh...Josh MitchellStork..ton" she mumbled, she just made a name up on the spot and it sounded fake which sucked, lets hope Niah didn't realize!
She wasn't really good at pretending really...
"yeah this guy is so cool, he is hot too" she said "he is also very sweet and caring towards me but when I tell him I don't think he would...I mean put yourself in Mark's er...I mean..." she had forgotten the name she made up "put your self in Jamie's boots and tell me what you would do" she said, she wasn't sure if Jamie was the right name but maybe he wouldn't notice...she had hoped he hadn't noticed a lot of things and maybe she really was hoping to high.
She fiddled with her long brown locks as she watched Niah thinking about what to say next, well she guessed that was what he was thinking, obviously she didn't know for sure what he was thinking.
She bit her lip slightly and as she done that she could taste her sweet lipgloss, which she wished Niah could taste too as she kissed him...but of course that wouldn't happen.
She wished in a way he could catch on and then just kiss her...but that just wouldn't happen either...it wasn't fair!
She thought about Frankie too, the girl she spoke on IM too...she was special...but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
