Jett is the high school math teacher. he's not really, really strict, but strict enough so his students don't try to walk over top of him. he hates his job, so he can be easily irritated as far as rowdy students go. the fact that he dislikes teaching is probably no secret from his co-workers.
he is a single father, widower. he's good to come to for advice, he is bisexual (but pretty much no one knows that), he's thirty years old - but doesn't act his age, he can be quite entertaining at times, he's a little bit weird - when he's happy... which isn't very often at all since the death of his late wife, cassadee, he's been battling depression, but he hides it pretty well while at work, or around his daughter.
his daughter is a freshmen and he's a little bit controlling over her, but doesn't realize it cause it's 'for her own good.' and since he teaches the school that she attends he can keep an eye on her, which probably annoys her, but once again - for her own good.

as far as

love, it'd take quite a bit to get him to be interested cause he's still in the mindset of "no one but cassadee." but i think it'd be a cool plot, someone comes along, especially if his daughter didn't like them, maybe if she thought jett was trying to replace cassadee.
friends, he needs a few of those, and he can get along with most people. jett's been teaching at the high school for about four years now so maybe a friend who's been teaching at the school awhile too, so they've grown to know each other over a long period of time.
enemies, you'd just have to be a boy who likes his daughter, that or be an annoying student of his. i think i'd be interesting for jett to have some enemies, but i'd take a pretty annoying person to really get on his bad side.
as far as high school students go, i figured there isn't gonna be a huge, twisty, epic plot seeing as their eighteen at the oldest and jett's thirty... and he's not a pedo, lol, what i basically wanna know when it comes to students, is how good they are in math class, cause obviously he'd know that info and i don't, and if the student can't stand him for some reason, hate him just cause they don't like the class he teaches, or if they don't really mind him as a teacher, or whatnot. - cause Jett's supposed to have been teaching for four years, so he'd know know these characters better then i do obviously.

So Baby is a brand new student at the highschool, is currently sixteen and a junior, and finds American mathematics to be extremely easy because she used to go to a prestigious boarding school in France before transferring here due to the death of her mother and her father wanting to get away from it all. I think she would probably identify with him being all depressed and battling it due to his wife's death (she most likely would have overheard teachers talking about it or rumors with other students or something) and maybe she's just that quiet chick in the back of the class that always answers everything correctly but never looks like she's really paying attention. She could maybe end up seeing her father in him and in a way they could be friends in that whole "comfort each other by just silently understanding" sort of way...I'm rambling...And I probably don't make sense (I'm sleepy lol) But it's up to you :] I can just see them being friends in the sort of father-daughter way and maybe trying to help him see things from his daughter's point of view. (Maybe people even get the wrong idea about them...cause drama xD )

yeah, this actually sounds like a could be really awesome plot idea. and it would be interesting if the two where friends (in the father/daughter) way and rumors started spreading or something. he's good at giving advice, and sort of being that father-figure-y type person, but i'm sure he needs a ton of help understanding exactly what is going through his daughter's head at any given time. seeing as she's a fourteen year old girl with no mother-figure. and i just don't think he quite understands teenage girls' minds. lol
this could be interesting.
