WHAT'S ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
My mother left my father when I was only twelve. I haven't seen her since then, but somehow, I know she has to come back...right? I also keep a pretty hard shell, and can be rude and sarcastic. But on the inside, I just want to be loved.
DO YOU PREFER THE NIGHT OR THE DAY?
The night.
NAME A FANTASY?
That my mother will come home. And my father will dump his stupid new wife, and her stupid children, and everything will just be like it was when I was younger...except I'll be older and wiser.

As the horrible storm wrapped itself around her and practically shook the trees down, Nikki collapsed into the sand, sobbing again, curling up into a ball and sitting by the tide, where the sea tugged anxiously at her ankles. She couldn’t understand this…she’d been so happy…it was the first time she’d ever felt so happy.
Why was it that the moment you became happy, everything shattered?
She closed her eyes, flashing back to the first time he’d looked at her, the first time he’d kissed her. Was there something she had missed? Some sign? Something that would tell her, plain as day what was happening? She could not remember a single time when she had felt doubt, when she had felt as if his words, his smile, or his kisses weren’t true. Every second he was with her felt as if he could only imagine one girl in his life. And she’d believed him. She’d looked into his eyes and believed every word, every promise, because the love that she felt seemed like enough.
And then she realized. Love was never enough.
She jumped as another bolt of lightning crackled against the sky, and it only caused her to weep more. It was frightening to even think about the fact that she would have done….anything for him. Anything he had asked for or wanted her to do, she would have done it without question. And he knew that. He knew that she was hopelessly in love, and that he could ask for anything….
It made her stomach churn.
The most horrible thing of all, was not the anger she felt towards Seaton, or the betrayal he had caused (although that had already left a scar on her soul). But the fact that SHE was the one who felt the most guilty. She must have done something wrong…not given him enough…not loved him enough…but what had she done to deserve this? What did Audrey give him that she had yet to give? She thought she had a pretty good idea of what that was. Because she had just been about to give it.
And then she thought of how stupid she’d been. Gushing to Lauren and Jack and Chloe and Jane and struggling to find the perfect outfits to impress him and having her heart leap every time she walked in his presence. He’d probably had different expectations of her…considering the way they had met, he probably thought she was a slut. And when she proved him wrong, he had to find someone who wouldn’t.
God, when was she going to stop crying?
She had not even known that this many tears could possibly flow from the same two eyes in the same few minutes. Or had it been longer? She couldn’t keep track.
And so she sat there, the rain still practically drowning her, the sea sweeping against her legs, praying with every ounce of her soul that she would awaken from this nightmare.
